Tara A. Houston is a scenic designer and scenic artist currently employed as the Charge Scenic Artist at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Her design work has been seen at such theatres as the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Alabama Dance Theatre, the Celebration Company at the Station Theatre, the Armory Free Theatre, and Arizona Repertory Theatre, among others. After earning her B.F.A. at the University of Arizona and her M.F.A. at the University of Illinois, Tara worked for the Denver Center Theatre Company, the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, and Music Theatre of Wichita. Her paint work has been seen at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Music Theatre of Wichita, Arizona Theatre Company, Clarence Brown Theatre, among others. She lives in Montgomery, Alabama with her boyfriend and silly muttly dog named Obi.
